death, broken vows, and latin

So I’m working on my Latin essay when I felt that it would be a good time to check the news.  So it was off to news.google.com when I got there the main story was: Bin Laden dead.  Wow.  Could it really be that the symbol of terrorism as we know it has gone?  Remember that this was only an hour old story from one source.  But if it’s true is it really this important.  I agree that Bin Laden was evil and he conducted 9/11 but if he is dead another will just fall into his place.  Just because this guy is “dead” doesn’t mean terrorism is over, far from it.  Just after looking at that article I went back to Google news and just below “Bin Laden dead” I saw “Bush backs off of bin laden vow” that is terrible.  This was the man who commanded 9/11 and we’re done looking for him?  That article made me so mad I couldn’t even start to read it.  If we’re done looking for him WHY IRAQ?!?!  This throws it into sharp focus!  For all you Bushies out there “why did we invade iraq now?”  I leave you with that.

pizza with a side order of torture

Tonight I went out to the local pizza shop for dinner.  When I got home I decided to watch a new show tonight called “NewsNight with Jim Braude” on NECN and yes there was no space between the News and Night.  Also despite having the word news in the name there was no actual news.  The topic I saw was about books and it featured news that was 2-3 days old.  Sad how news is being flushed for entertainment isn’t it?  After that I sat down with the laptop and watched Hardball while I did my homework.  I didn’t really listen but it seemed to be about how youtube can affect politics.  Which if you think about it is really just an extension of the blog-o-shere.

After simpsons was done I began to watch one of my favorite shows “Countdown” on MSNBC the first story was about the president of Pakistan who claimed that the U.S. threatened to bomb them if they did not follow them in going after Osama bin Laden.  The claim was that Armitage was the one who said that they would be bombed.  I thoughts on that are very simple.  Its sad it’s very sad that ether Pakistan is framing the US or that Armitage said that “they would bomb them back to the stone age”.  It’s terrible that we would consider that just because a person didn’t want to help us find a person that killed people that they deserve to be bombed.  It is true that Osama bin Laden is a terrible terrible man but just because a country doesn’t want to help us doesn’t men they are evil.  It seems as though we have started to over reach our influence if we think we can do this kind of thing.
After that Keith Obermann moved on to the torture rules.  Which are also bad.  As Jonathan Turley a professor of constitutional law said word for word that the laws for torture were very lenient.  Well if these are actually really bad people then it may be ok.  But we really don’t know.  Unless were going to tell people what this is about I say stop.

That seems like enough real news… so I flipped to the Colbert report!  Definitely one of the funniest shows ever!  It was about Harvard and how the wealthy kids have a better chance of getting in.  Colbert’s question was “why do we want the poor kids getting in? “ but the guest wasn’t so good so the joke fell flat.

This seems good for today (

Rants and Raves

NewsNight is really uninforming informing
There are to many bad things in the world

The Simpsons is often very funny although not very knowledgeable
The Colbert report is one of the best shows ever if you have not seen it before it’s on at 8:30 eastern on comedy central.

welcome to angry ole nut

this is a blog about politics. if you feel that you may be offended leave otherwise stay. you may hear some good points.
Basically this blog is just like any other blog, all the points here are often highly biased and there may be some comedy Thrown in. Enjoy.

How we started

this entire thing started one day when the I said "I'm so sick of this I wish I could just get the word out" well this is how I will get it out. it's been a few weeks and after some thinking on my own I decided that this is the right way to do it. so voila! or however you spell it.
